If it has happened in the past, either current or much earlier , it is history and some of it should be forgotten and some preserved , but it is all a part of History of our community, our world, and it the recent past our outer Space.
In the very near past I have heard some rumbling from a group that claims they are interested in keeping the old Mansion that was known as Louis Steak House, because of it's historic value in Owen Sound.
WOW These same people do not want strip clubs or Massage Parlors in Owen Sound want to preserve A Whore House from the late 1800's.
What is this heritage committee? I suggest that they are a group of people that like to look important, like to be mentioned in the Minutes of Council Meetings and in the News Paper.
As we have seen on numerous occasions before (Queens Hotel, Kennedy's) to name two, they kick up a stink and get their names in the news, but do nothing concrete and the buildings are destroyed.
Oh well they have their names in the "IMPORTANT PEOPLE" of Owen Sound registry
IF these people could care less about these buildings why do they watch them fall down so the city has no choice but demolish them. In the case of Louis Steak House if anyone really cared why don't they put their back in gear and relax their voices.
I drive on Highway 26 frequently and cannot help but wonder why,?
IF anyone really cares Why don't they show it is important to them and cut the grass. This would help make the Eastern access to Owen Sound look much cleaner and give a better first impression the city and put some validation in their argument to save this old Mansion
